Momma's Boys.

Family Photo Shoot

Since we were getting dressed up anyway to go to my cousin Trevor's wedding reception on Friday we decided to take a few pics before hand.

My two boys
Uh...are you taking the picture already?

Posted by PicasaMy three boys...aren't they cute?

I Scream, You Scream...

We all scream for ice cream!
The Farmers came to dinner last Thursday and we enjoyed some after dinner cones outside.
Here the boys are giving tribute to the yumminess of icecream by toasting their favorite treat.
Cade: "Hmmm, I love icecream."
Scottie ponders: "can life get any better than this?"

…the laurelled peers

Still haven’t managed to get a good family shot that we all like.  And for those many who have preceded us in rearing multiple-children can attest that it’s no small feat to get them smiling at the same time.  Clicking below will take you to many more photos of the boys:

Now comes the fun part.  Below are two pictures of Scottie at around 2 months and two pictures of James (who is about 2 months).  Can you identify who is who?

(Hint: Scottie and James may or may not be wearing the same clothing in these photos…we’re firm believers in hand-me-downs.)

Blessing Baby James

Thanks to all those who participated in blessing baby James at church: Daddy, Travis, Shawn, Jimmy, Uncle Jim, Bill, Roger and Bp. Petersen. Here are a few shots in unfavorable lighting that mark this special occasion for us:

Notice how Daddy wears his glasses on special occasion to make him look distinguished.

A night out with daddy

Thanks to Aunt Chris, Scottie and Daddy had a special night out at the Mariner’s game with very special seats next to Grandma Dorothy and Bill.

A few favorite shots from the game:

Lots more pictures on our web album.

For Mamma Colleen and Pappa Jim

The exciting news!  We are going to Ireland.  Hyrum and I booked tickets last night for Ireland in August.  We will get to visit my parents on their mission and Hyrum will go to a conference in Cardiff, Wales.  So for Grandma and Grandpa, here are the cute kiddies.
James chillin' in the bouncy seat, 5 weeks old.
Look at my cute hands.  Also, my blanket is pretty cute too, thanks mommy.
Here I am relaxing with Dad at family night.
6 weeks old and learning to smile.
We spent Saturday with Grandma Dorothy and had tons of fun.  She gave us a fashion show with her new outfit for Trevor's wedding, took us to the park, and then treated us to McDonalds.  She even braved driving my Civic, a stick, (she hadn't driven one in a looong time) so I could calm James down on the way home.  We love you Grandma.

I can do it!

Scottie is in a stage where he wants to do everything by himself. He can put on his boots by himself, open the front door for people, put on the top snap of his car seat. He is gaining some independence. On Sunday he took his independence to a new level. He had eaten some yogurt for breakfast and the bowl and spoon were still on the table. I was feeding James in the bedroom and Hyrum comes in
Hyrum: "Did you have anything to do with what Scottie is doing?"
Nicole: "What is he doing?"
Hyrum: "Let me take a picture and I will show you."
My curiosity was peaked so of course James and I had to see for ourselves.

Scottie had opened up the fridge by himself and the only good thing that he found within arms reach was Ketchup! So he poured himself a bowl and went to town.

He got a little embarrassed when we were all laughing. I guess it makes sense to him, he likes yogurt and so he eats a bowl of it, he likes ketchup, why is it funny to eat a bowl of that?

Family Totem Pole

The Day before Easter we went to the Easter parade in Snohomish. Hyrum and I decided we could live in Snohomish. They have the cutest old historic houses plus it is a nice small town feel. We loved the parade. We saw pirates, bands, drill teams, tractors and firemen, and Scottie's favorite, race cars!

Hyrum dubbed himself the family totem pole with Scottie on his shoulder and James on his front.  I had to get in on the action but Scottie wouldn't let me sit on his shoulders.

Our prophet said to plant a garden...

So that's what we'll do!

We planted our garden and were so excited to see things grow... and then the deer came.
They ate our strawberry plants already... any tips.
Here I am with the boys and the chickens letting the chickens fertilize our garden before we planted everything.  They liked it but when they started to eat all the worms we banned them from the garden.  Now if we can figure out how to ban the deer.
