Easter

My friend Kayleen came in town for Easter weekend. I had a great time, thanks for coming Kayleen! We have been friends for 32 years, that is pretty good eh?

Easter after church at Hyrum's cousins house for a little egg-hunting
We got the boys 6 little fish for Easter and 3 of them promptly died, but 3 are still hanging on outside in our fountain

April Fools!

My friend Janae came up from Las Cruces for a dentist appointment and joined us for a bike ride and a little cupcake making. We made these mash potato n gravy ones that I found on Our Best Bites. Thanks for coming Janae. Come again soon!

Red River New Mexico

This year on April 8th we celebrated 6 years of marriage. We had fun date of going to the Nuclear Museum (so romantic, I know but it was my idea) here in Albuquerque, and dinner. We had a fun addition to that celebration when my amazing mother-in-law Diane was in town. She watched the boys for 2 days and nights so Hyrum and I could go for a much needed weekend away. We headed up to Taos and Red River. I was pleasantly surprised with how amazingly beautiful it was. We had an awesome time! We ate the best Mexican food that I maybe have ever had, (Except for that one time your neighbor grilled carne asada in Lynnwood, Shannon and Jimmy.) went fishing in the Rio Grande, hiked down into the Rio Grande Gorge (it is around 800 feet drop and is pretty dramatic looking in some spots, biked, and enjoyed being together. I did pretty good for an 8 1/2 month pregnant lady but I have to say that after waking up early to fish and hike, the bike ride was pretty slow and took it out of me.
A bridge over the Rio Grande where we fished on Saturday morning.

Hyrum fly fishing in el Rio. It was pretty cool Friday morning on our hike and fishing. I had to find a rock to block the wind zooming down the Gorge.

Our Stats:
6 years of marriage
Almost 3 little boys (due in a week from today guys!)
1 PhD
2 moves across the country (Boston to Seattle, Seattle to New Mexico)
Countries visited together: Mexico, Russia, Canada, China, Ireland, New Mexico (hey, it feels different to me. :) )
Lots and lots of fun and adventures

Happy Anniversary Hyrum, love you!

Bike Accident

St. Patrick's Day this year we celebrated in style. I made corn-beef and cabbage, then skipped dinner to take Scottie to the doctors. Scottie crashed his 2-wheeler coming down hard and breaking both his radius and ulna. He will sport this beautiful green cast for 4-6 weeks. He has been such a good sport. Poor little buddy.

Aren't my boys cute. Can't wait for the fourth to make his debut in May.

Happy Birthday James!

James is 2! He is one cute little rascal. He has a lot of personality. His current loves include cooking, (I cannot do anything without him pulling up a chair to "help"), trains, teasing Scott (he harasses Scott way more than vice-versa), playing outdoors, and generally being cute and mischievous. To celebrate his birthday I took the boys to the aquarium and botanical gardens.

Climbing on the child-sized ants

We ended the evening with a hike and picnic in the mountains and a chocolate cake.

Life is good.

Drunk Driver

I forgot to blog about this. A month or so ago we had an exciting event. A drunk driver drove through the back of our block wall, exposing our beautiful shed to the road. Luckily for us he was insured. Thank you All State for our brand new wall and for keeping our boys safe and out of the road. The best part was when Hyrum got to take a sledge hammer to it.

Friday Night Party

What makes a party?  A trip to the store for ice cream and being together on a Friday night.

Girls Weekend

By some miracle, I was allowed to walk onto the BYU XC and track team my freshman year of college and what a wonderful experience and time of life it was.  Because nearly all of my free time/social time was spent with those ladies, I made some amazing friends… Some of my best girlfriends in the world.  At the end of January we had a fun girls weekend where five of us met up in Phoenix for a weekend away.  The highlights included visiting Frank Lloyd Wright’s winter camp, Taliesan West, an intense hike, Bollywood dancing (3 pregnant women shaking it = hot), and lots of good conversation and food.  I didn’t take hardly any photos and those I did take I managed to delete off my memory card (when you get around to it send me a CD Kristen) so I am going to link you to these amazing blog posts so you can see what a great time it was.

Announcing…

The Hyrum and Nicole Anderson family our pleased to announce that we will be adding a new addition to the family in May! Most of you probably already know, but for those of you who don’t, you will be glad to know that we will NOT be renaming our blog. In keeping with the trend we will be having another boy.

Scottie and James are excited to have another brother but Scottie did have some confusion. Yesterday I asked him if he was excited to have a new little brother and he said he was but wondered what we were going to do with James. I told him James was staying and he said he only wants one little brother. Sorry Dude, James stays.

I love my two little boys and am delighted for another little man child. I just am not looking forward to finding another name. We will be taking suggestions in the comment section.
